Bold, comfortable seating by cassina: cornaro, dudet, tamburound

For interior designers seeking modern statement seating that is both bold and comfortable, Cassina has a series of new collections and extensions to explore. New pieces include the iconic Cornaro model by Carlo Scarpa; two new proposals of the contemporary Dudet by Patricia Urquiola; and the expansion of the Tamburound collection by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby.
Following the entry of visionary Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa into the universe of iMaestri in 2023, Cassina now offers a new glimpse of the iconic Cornaro model designed in 1973. While preserving its emblematic aesthetic, it responds to modern interpretation, configuration and use – now available as an armchair, two- or three-seat sofa and end element, with updated fabric colours and proportions for a more ample seat.
Characterised by a strong stylistic reference to the 1970s, the evocative and architectural design of Dudet by Patricia Urquiola translates into two new products, a two-seater sofa, particularly embracing the popularity of the ‘easy dining’ trend with comfort and versatility and an abundant, rounded armchair to create not only a cosy seat, but also a niche to retreat.
Following the success of the Tamburound small armchair, the design that marked the debut of the British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for Cassina, the collection now expands with an armchair and a backless seat featuring the same swivel system developed for the small armchair, that allows 360° rotation. These suit a wide variety of scenarios, such as the creation of moving landscapes in hotel lounges.
